Classes & Workshops
WCAC offers courses and workshops with the aim of helping local media producers in all aspects of production, from writing or prepping a program all the way through the final edit. New courses and workshops are added throughout the year, so be sure to check back often. If there is a course you are interested in taking that we do not offer, please let us know and we'll see what we can do about it.

Digital Video Editing I
4 sessions, Tuesdays beginning February 16 (Feb. 16, 23, March 2, 9) 6:30-8:30pm

Instruction on the basic aspects of Apple's Final Cut Express: screen menus and windows, tape digitizing, basic editing & effects, titling, audio, and file management. Footage will be provided for editing. 6 seats available. $20 registration fee.

Digital Video Editing II
4 sessions, Mondays beginning February 15 (Feb. 15, 22, March 1, 8) 6:30-8:30

Learn how to create polished transitions and fades, create fantastic effects, use filters creatively, and composite and title like a pro all using Final Cut Express! Prerequisite: Intro to DV Editing, or special permission from instructor. $20 registration fee.

Introduction to Technical Directing
3 sessions, Wednesdays beginning February 24 (Feb. 24, March 3, 10) 6:30-8:30pm

A technical director in television has a very important role. They are responsible for switching cameras and bringing in graphics and "roll-ins" on multicamera shoots. Therefore, being a technical director takes a keen eye and fast hands. Students will learn how to function as a technical director and the basics of working our state-of-the-art Broadcast Pix switcher. No experience is necessary. $20 registration fee.

Introduction to Photoshop
4 sessions, Mondays starting March 22 (March 22, 29, April 5, 12) 6:30-8:30pm

This course will introduce students to the Photoshop CS3 interface and tools for basic photo editing. Students will learn how to manipulate, add text, and touch up images. $20 registration fee..

TV News Feature Production
3 sessions, Wednesdays beginning February 24 (Feb. 24, March 3, 10) 2-4pm

This workshop is for anyone interested in producing content for news programs. Learn how to shoot a news style interview, use a microphone, and other skills that help audiences understand the event covered. $10 registration fee.
