Mosesian Center for the Arts Celebrates Community, Creativity at Annual Benefit

The Mosesian Center for the Arts welcomed supporters, artists, and community leaders on May 21 for its annual Spring Soirée, the organization's largest fundraiser of the year. The event transformed the Arsenal Street arts center into an immersive celebration of visual and performing arts while raising funds to support year-round programming, education initiatives, and community access to the arts.

The evening honored arts leader Michael J. Bobbitt, who previously served as Artistic Director of New Repertory Theatre during its 18-year residency at the Mosesian Center and later led the Mass Cultural Council before being named President and CEO of OPERA America.

Guests experienced performances by Flamenco Boston, Boston Dance Theater, Watertown Children's Theatre, and spoken-word artist Lyrical Faith, while also viewing art exhibitions and participating in a silent auction.

During interviews at the event, Bobbitt reflected on his years working in Watertown and said he was honored to receive the Mosesian Center's recognition. Executive Director Aliana de la Guardia emphasized the role arts organizations play as community gathering spaces where people can learn new skills, build relationships, and discover more about themselves. Bobbitt echoed that sentiment, describing the arts as essential community infrastructure that fosters creativity, connection, and opportunity.

Proceeds from the Spring Soirée support the Mosesian Center's mission of making arts experiences accessible to the community while sustaining live performances, exhibitions, and educational programs throughout the year.
