Students at Watertown High School are putting their engineering skills into action—designing, building, and programming a fully functional robot from scratch.
The robot, nicknamed “Torrent,” is designed to pick up and shoot game pieces using a combination of mechanical systems and software.
From early wooden prototypes to a full metal build, students worked across disciplines to bring the machine to life. The project gives students hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, programming, and teamwork—while challenging them to solve complex problems in real time.
