WATERTOWN – Project Save, a nonprofit organization based in Watertown, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special presentation at the Watertown Free Public Library. Founded in 1975, the organization has become the largest photo archive dedicated to documenting the Armenian experience, with over 100,000 images preserved.
The anniversary event on April 30 featured a talk by Project Save Executive Director Dr. Arto Vaun, who explored the role of photographic archives in protecting truth, preserving memory, and countering historical erasure. Drawing from the organization’s extensive collections, the presentation emphasized how visual records help sustain collective identity and support community resilience.
