A three-day festival celebrating South Asian theater, languages and cultures will return to Watertown this month.

The South Asian American Theater Festival is scheduled for Sept. 18-20 at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. Now in its fifth year, the festival will feature short and full-length plays exploring subjects including war, the environment, love, identity, superstition and philosophy.

Sankha Bhowmick, artistic director of Off-Kendrik, said the festival uses live theater to showcase the cultural and linguistic diversity of India and South Asia while telling stories built around themes that can resonate across cultures.

Organizers are also working to make the multilingual festival accessible to audiences who do not speak the languages used in the productions. Bhowmick said every non-English play will include English supertitles projected above the stage.

Tickets are available for individual days or through a multi-day pass, and Indian street food will also be available during the festival. See more information about the festival online here: offkendrik.com/saath
