Years in the Making: Inside the New Watertown High School
Updated: 16 hours ago
After years of planning and construction, the new Watertown High School is nearly ready to welcome students.
WCA-TV recently got an inside look at the $219 million facility, the largest capital investment in Watertown’s history. The new school features modern classrooms and collaborative learning spaces, a gymnasium and indoor track, performing arts facilities and an all-electric design built around ambitious sustainability goals.
In our full video feature, WCA-TV speaks with school and city officials and the project’s architect about the design of the building, its net-zero energy goals and the years-long process that transformed the former high school site.
The community will have a chance to see the new school during its grand opening Wednesday, Sept. 2. The event begins at 3 p.m., with an open house running from 3 to 8 p.m.
