Watertown STEM Night Showcases Robotics, Science, Clean Energy & Student Programs

Students, educators, local businesses, and community organizations gathered at Watertown Middle School on April 29th for the second annual Watertown STEM Night.
The event featured hands-on activities, demonstrations, and exhibits highlighting science, technology, engineering, and math programs across Watertown Public Schools and the broader community.
Attendees explored robotics, medical assisting, chemistry experiments, ecological gardening, clean energy initiatives, makerspace technology, and more.
Organizations participating included the Watertown High School Robotics Team, Women in STEM Club, COLAB, Watertown Free Public Library, WCA-TV, and architects working on the Watertown High School project.
Organizers from the Watertown Business Coalition and Watertown Public Schools say the event was designed to connect students and families with STEM-related educational opportunities and future career pathways available in Watertown.
Watertown STEM Night Panels Explore Life Science, Clean Energy & Freight Farm Program
As part of the second annual Watertown STEM Night, community members gathered for a series of panel discussions focused on life science, sustainability, agriculture, and clean energy careers.
The evening included a presentation on Watertown’s growing life science industry, a discussion about Watertown Public Schools’ new Freight Farm hydroponic agriculture program, and a clean energy panel featuring educators, engineers, and industry professionals.
Panelists discussed topics including renewable energy, sustainable school design, offshore wind careers, STEM education, and workforce development opportunities in Massachusetts. The discussions were recorded by WCA-TV and are airing on the Education Channel and available through WCA-TV’s video-on-demand platforms.
