Boston Dance Theater Brings Contemporary Dance to Watertown

Watertown, MA - Boston Dance Theater is continuing to strengthen its presence in Watertown through professional performances, educational programming, and community partnerships centered at the Mosesian Center for the Arts.

Founded by Jesse Jean Stennett, the nonprofit contemporary dance company was created to provide sustainable, full-time opportunities for professional dancers in the Greater Boston area. Since returning to Massachusetts after performing internationally, Stennett has grown Boston Dance Theater into a company that commissions new works from choreographers around the world while supporting artists with year-round employment and professional development.

Now in a three-year residency at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, the company has established its first long-term home, allowing it to expand its community engagement and educational initiatives. In addition to presenting professional performances, Boston Dance Theater offers a year-long training program that pairs emerging dancers with company members for daily classes, mentorship, and hands-on experience in production, marketing, and arts administration.
